So when we talk about Sports Anime, the first thing that comes to our mind is obviously “Haikyuu“. It is the best sports anime we have got in recent times. Haikyuu Season 4 Part 2 premiered in the year 2020 in October and after we did not get any announcement for season 5, it was not really that surprising.
Recently we have seen a lot of anime getting sequel announcements just after the premiere of the final episode but for Haikyuu it has not been the same. We have to wait almost four years for season four. Animes like My Hero Academia gets a new season every single year. In case you did not know even haikyuu did the same at the beginning when we first got the first season of haikyuu, we just had to wait only one year for the second season and then season three took exactly the same amount of time to return and premiered in October of 2016. But after that, we have to wait till 2020 to finally get the fourth season of this anime. It was probably due to not having enough source material available but the good the good news is this there is enough source material available not only for season 5 but also for season six.
The manga of haikyuu just ended last year, it has got 45 volumes and 402 chapters. Season 4 of the anime ended somewhere around chapter 290, so there are still around 112 chapters left from the manga which have not been adapted into the anime yet. For those people who have been asking what are the chances for season 5, will it even happen or not because there was some production issue in season four? What I would say to you guys is that we may not have gotten the announcement for season 5 yet but the chances of season 5 happening are still super high. The manga is super popular and it is sold very well. It’s been more than one year since the manga ended but the sales figure for haikyuu manga is still looking really good. So hopefully season 5 will happen but exactly when will it happen we still don’t know.
In August of the year 2021, there was an annual event we thought we get some kind of information there about season 5 but sadly that did not happen. On their official website and official Twitter account but there is no information available on season 5. Recently they have been really busy doing collaborations with some brands to sell their merchandise. They are even planning on doing a haikyuu outing fair in winter 2022 in Japan nationwide. Just to be clear again that Haikyuu Season 5 has not been officially announced yet and that’s why there is no release date for it.
