So Hunter x Hunter has finally returned with its latest chapter being released just recently. Even by the time this article is being written I still cannot believe this is actually happening and I can imagine other fans are right now in the same situation.
In today’s article, we are going to discuss the situation and possibilities of getting a new season of Hunter x Hunter anime. Also, Hunter x Hunter is getting a new trailer PV and we will talk about that too. So without any more delay, let’s jump into today’s topic.
About Hunter x Hunter author – Yoshihiro Togashi’s health issues.
As you already know that the author of Hunter x Hunter, Yoshihiro Togashi had been suffering from severe mental health issues and physical issues. The manga had been on a constant Hiatus for nearly four years. By then many fans got impatient and were worried that the manga would never end. As a matter of fact, many people started to mock the series by calling it hiatus x hiatus. But to the majority of the fans as well as me hold the series close to their hearts. So we would hope that Togashi would recover and finally finish his beloved manga, after the Hiatus from November 2018.
Return of Hunter x Hunter Anime
In April 2022, Togashi teased the return of Hunter x Hunter on Twitter. Togashi stated that he has managed to complete as many as 10 new chapters and that is enough for us, the fans. Even after all these years, Hunter x Hunter is considered to be the best Shonen series of all time with an amazing Story, characters, World building, and fight sequences. Although the anime first aired in 1999, a rebooted version and somewhat up to-date with the manga was aired in 2011, which contained a total of 148 episodes. Basically, the anime of 2011 was the main factor behind the huge popularity of the series.
Hunter x Hunter Anime Arcs and Chapters
The anime had covered up to chapter 339 of the 13th Hunter Chairman Election Arc. After that, the manga published dark continents Expedition Arc with eight chapters only. Currently, the manga is on the succession War Arc which we are hoping to see to be finished this month. As the fans are hoping for new anime, it might take a while considering the amount of available Source material and the number of episodes the season will contain. Given the chance that a new season of Hunter x Hunter is really renewed. It might be possible to get a 12-episode long season which doesn’t sound like a bad deal. But let us not be greedy and wait patiently for the next update. As we have already mentioned Togashi is still suffering from health issues and he is trying his best to recover. Even in the tweets, he mentioned how he has trouble holding pain with pain. It is no secret about Japan’s unethical work culture in the manga industry and Togashi suffered pretty badly for it.

When he finished YuYu Hakusho, he suffered a mental breakdown and while working on Hunter x Hunter, he finally had enough which caused him to take a long Hiatus to recover. We really hope that he comes around soon enough.
Hunter x Hunter New Trailer
About the new trailer, on the 13th of October, we got some leaks from the next issue of Weekly Shonen Jump magazine that Hunter x Hunter is getting a new anime trailer.
That will feature gone and kill you. It will be released on the 28th of October and it will be available on the official YouTube channel of Jump Comics. We are not really sure what this new trailer is going to be about. Does it mean that the anime is returning or is it just to celebrate the return of the manga?
