Recently, we got the announcement for the 2nd season of Jujutsu Kaisen. It was announced at a special event called CU Stage which took place last Saturday the 12th of February. It is now confirmed that Mappa Studio is returning to do the production for season 2. Now there seems to be a lot of confusion among the fans not only about the release date for season 2 but also about the new key visual that we have been seeing all over the internet.
First of all about the release date, just before the announcement of season 2, we heard a lot of people saying that the 2nd season will be coming out in the winter of 2023. But later when we got the announcement the only thing that was officially confirmed was that season 2 of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released in 2023. They did not mention any specific season or month so we don’t know if the season will be coming in the winter of 2023 or not. We have also seen some people mentioning the April 2023 release date but even that’s not true. It was confirmed earlier that the first season of the anime will get a rebroadcast in April 2022, so maybe people got confused with the rebroadcast date and started spreading the misinformation about the second season releasing in April of next year so we just wanted to clear that about the release date as a lot of people were spreading false information.
Now the key visual that you have seen everyone sharing is not the official key visual for season 2. It is fan art that was made 2 months. In this image, you can see a tweet from the original artist clarifying that it was he or she who drew this art of the Shibuya incident. A special illustration made by the manga author G Jack Yatami was also revealed at the same event to celebrate the success of the Jujutsu Kaisen Zero Movie as there was no official key visual available for season 2. The official website and Twitter account of Jujutsu Kaisen decided to use this special illustration to announce of season. As this special illustration did not exactly look like a key visual for the next arc of the anime. Some news media decided to use fanart instead. This was very unethical as they didn’t have any permission to use this fanart without giving credit to the original artist.
About the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 trailer :
Now the last thing is about the trailer, as everyone keeps asking where is there for the 2nd season. Sadly during the announcement for season 2, they did reveal any kind of teaser or trailer. You have probably heard some rumors like Toji being animated in the trailer and some other stuff but the truth is there is no official trailer available for Season 2 at this moment. This whole event where the announcement was made was mainly for celebrating the success of the recent movie. So probably they didn’t have any big plan like making a big announcement for season 2 with a new trailer and a new visual. It was mentioned at the end of the article that more information on season 2 will be announced at a later date. So that we will be getting the trailer for season 2 very soon with the new visual and exact release date. As soon as we get any new updates on Jujutsu Kaisen season 2, we will display them on this website.
