So one of our favorite anime of this winter season My dress-up darling has finally ended. We only got 12 episodes in the first season which was produced by studio Cloverworks, sadly we did not get any kind of announcement for season two after the premiere of the final episode which means the second season of my dress-up darling is not officially confirmed yet. So the main question now everyone has got on their mind is that will there be a second season of My Dress-up darling anime.
In case it happens, when can we expect it to release. So lets talk about the source material, release date prediction and where to start the manga after season 1 of My Dress-up darling etc. Starting with the source material, this anime is based on a manga written by shinji fukuda. The first season of the My Dress-up darling anime has only covered the first 39 chapters of the manga or we can say the first five volumes they were adapting something like three or four chapters on each episode the good news is the manga is still ongoing and has currently got nine volumes there are like 73 chapters within those nine volumes so we already have 33 plus chapters worth of source material available but that’s probably not enough for a new season that could be one of the main reasons why they did not announce the second season right after the end of season one. We have been getting eight chapters in each volume so when volume 10 comes out the manga will have more than 80 chapters. I think that should be enough to produce the second season of the anime volume 9 of the manga was released just recently on the 25th of March.
We will probably have to wait six or seven months for the next volume assuming that once volume 10 comes out and there are enough chapters available and they decide to produce a new season then we will have to wait for another 10 to 12 months for the production to complete. So sadly, I will have to tell you that the second season of the My Dress-up darling anime is probably not coming out anytime soon at least not in 2022. Studio Clover work is going to be super busy this year, they are already working on a few projects like spy x family which is releasing in April and then they have got their hands on Shadows house season 2 which doesn’t have any release date yet. Then they will also be working on another project called Buchi the rock since studio cloverworks will be busy this year and there’s not enough source material available. My guess is we will probably have to wait till late 2023 or maybe 2024 for the second season of my dress-up darling but again it is not 100% confirmed whether the anime will get a second season or not but based on how popular the first season has been and how well the manga has been selling since the anime started I think there is a high possibility of getting a second season. So all we can do now is just wait and see if they give us any information on season two of My Dress-up darling or not at this point haven’t heard any kind of solid rumor relief that is worth mentioning so I am not going to talk them today but as soon as we get any new update on season 2 of the My Dress-up darling anime, we will let you know.
