So there are some new Overlord season 4 updates today. It’s been over four years since the last new episode of this anime was released. The third season of this Anime premiered in 2018 and ended in the same year covering to light novel volume 9.
The good news is that Overlord is making a comeback, not only with a new season but also with a new movie. Season 4 of Overlord was already reported to be published in the summer of 2022, but we didn’t know a specific release date until now. They finally announced a release date for the first episode of the new season on Sunday. They’ve also released a new trailer, which runs for one minute and 54 seconds and can be found on Katakawa’s official YouTube page.
In terms of the premiere date, it has already been announced that the first episode of Season 4 will release on July 5th. In case you didn’t know, Madhouse is in charge of season four’s production. The number of episodes in the fourth season is yet to be confirmed, but we will keep you updated as soon as we learn more. The movie will cover the Holy Kingdom Arc from the light novel, which was previously confirmed. As a result, season 4 of the anime will most likely adapt volumes 10, 11, and some portions of volume 12 from the Light Novel, with the movie taking over from there and covering the rest of the Arc from volume 12 and 13.
